Dainichi Marine Fx 100g Baby (1mm) Sinking Pellets

Description

Dainichi Marine Fx 100g Baby (1mm) Sinking Pellets — Colour-enhancing sinking pellet for small marine fish and invertebrates

A reef or marine community with small-mouthed fish and grazing invertebrates cannot be fed the same pellet sized for a larger carnivore, and a generic marine flake rarely carries the colour-building ingredients a dedicated formula does. Dainichi Marine Fx 100g Baby (1mm) Sinking Pellets (SKU: 101514) is the small-pellet entry point to Dainichi’s marine-protein Fx line, a sinking food built around spirulina, which Dainichi cites at 52 to 62% protein, and krill at around 62% protein, giving the formula a marine-protein base rather than one built on cheaper fillers. Dainichi states the recipe contains no corn, alfalfa, excess starch, blood meal or ruminant animal matter, and the 1 mm Baby pellet suits small-mouthed marine fish, fry and invertebrates that cannot manage a larger pellet.

As with the rest of Dainichi’s range, calcium montmorillonite clay is included; the maker describes it as a bentonite clay carrying more than 60 mineral compounds that aids digestion and growth, neutralises metabolic toxins and helps return minerals to the water column rather than simply passing through the fish. Vitamins and minerals are coated onto the pellet after the extrusion step specifically to protect heat-sensitive nutrients from the cooking process, and Dainichi’s vitamin and enzyme formula is said to support immune response, including resistance to bacterial and viral infection, alongside colour. The maker also claims a digestion rate above 90%. Feeding is done in small amounts the fish and invertebrates clear within a few minutes, with smaller, more frequent feeds recommended over one or two large ones. At 100 g, the pack is suited to a nano or small reef system or a trial before stepping up to a larger pack size.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Small-mouthed marine fish: Species that cannot manage a standard-size pellet.
• Reef invertebrates: Grazing and filter-feeding invertebrates alongside fish.
• Nano and small marine systems: A 100 g pack suited to a smaller setup or a trial.
• Colour-focused feeding: Keepers building colour through diet rather than lighting alone.

Feeding Guide

• Small, frequent feeds: Several light feeds a day rather than one large meal.
• Clear within minutes: Offer only what fish and invertebrates finish quickly.
• Remove leftovers: Siphon out any pellets that settle uneaten.
• Sinking pellet: Allow it to reach mid-water and bottom feeders, not just the surface.
