Description
Dainichi Marine Fx 100g Small (3mm) Sinking Pellets — Colour-enhancing sinking pellet for reef fish and invertebrates
A reef tank stocked with wrasses, gobies and cleaner shrimp needs food that reaches every feeding level, not just the fastest fish at the surface. Dainichi Marine Fx 100g Small (3mm) Sinking Pellets (SKU: 101515) is the 3 mm sinking grade in Dainichi’s Marine Fx range, a colour-enhancing diet for marine fish and invertebrates built around freeze-dried copepods, natural astaxanthin, spirulina and Antarctic krill. Because the pellet sinks rather than floating, bottom-dwelling fish and invertebrates that rarely visit the surface still get a proper feed. At 100 g the pack suits a single reef aquarium, or a first trial of the formula.
The recipe leads with white fish meal, wheat flour and Antarctic krill meal, with pea protein, wheat germ and spirulina algae adding further protein and natural pigment, copepod meal and astaxanthin supplying the carotenoids behind the colour claim, and montmorillonite clay, gum acacia, garlic, calcium carbonate, protease and beta glucan rounding out the mix alongside a standard vitamin and mineral premix. Guaranteed analysis is crude protein 45% minimum, crude fat 5% minimum, crude fibre 4% maximum, moisture 9% maximum, ash 10% maximum, calcium 2% minimum and phosphorus 0.7% minimum. Dainichi’s feeding guidance is 1 to 3 times daily, offering only what the tank clears within a few minutes; smaller, frequent feeds are preferred to one large feeding. The 3 mm Small grade suits adult and sub-adult reef fish and larger invertebrates rather than fry or nano shrimp.
Usage & Application
When to Use
- Mixed reef communities: Fish and invertebrates feeding at different levels of the same aquarium.
- Bottom-dwelling invertebrates: Shrimp, snails and other inverts that need food to reach the substrate.
- Colour maintenance: Fish already showing good colour that need it sustained through diet.
- A single reef tank: A 100 g pack sized for one display or a first trial of the formula.
Feeding Guide
- 1 to 3 feeds daily: Offer only what is eaten within a few minutes each time.
- Favour smaller feeds: Several small feeds are safer than one large feeding.
- Let it settle: Drop pellets where the current carries them to bottom feeders.
- Clear leftovers: Remove uneaten pellets so water quality is not affected.
