Dainichi Veggie Deluxe 500g Baby (1mm) Sinking Pellets

Description

Dainichi Veggie Deluxe 500g Baby (1mm) Sinking Pellets — Bulk-feed herbivore pellet for small-mouthed cichlid groups

A fish room running several Tropheus or Petrochromis grow-out tanks burns through a 250 g bag of fry food in a matter of weeks. Dainichi Veggie Deluxe 500g Baby (1mm) Sinking Pellets (SKU: 101484) is the larger pack of Dainichi’s kelp and spirulina-based herbivore formula at the 1 mm pellet size, built for small-mouthed herbivorous cichlids and also suitable and effective for other herbivorous fish. Krill, shrimp meal and white fish meal supply digestible protein alongside the plant base, with five colour-enhancing ingredients included for growth and vigour. Garlic and uncooked digestive enzymes support general health, while calcium montmorillonite clay promotes digestive efficiency and is positioned by Dainichi as help against bloat, a frequent problem in young strict herbivores overfed on the wrong food.

The 1 mm Baby pellet is scaled for fry and juveniles rather than full-grown adults, which take the 3 mm Small grade in the same range. At 500 g, the bag suits several rearing or grow-out tanks fed this pellet daily, rather than a single trial tank. Feeding follows Dainichi’s standard direction: offer only what the fish consume within a few minutes, one to three times a day, with smaller and more frequent feeds preferred over one large meal, particularly important for bloat-prone young herbivores. No guaranteed analysis is published for this pack. Veggie Deluxe remains Dainichi’s flagship kelp-based herbivore diet, with Veggie FX available as a more colour-intensive version of the same formula. The range also comes in 100 g and 250 g, and 2.5 kg for larger operations, and as the 3 mm Small pellet for adult fish.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Multiple rearing tanks: A 500 g bag covers several grow-out tanks of fry.
• Breeding programs: A steady supply for colonies producing young regularly.
• Juvenile Tropheus and Petrochromis: Fish still too small for the 3 mm pellet.
• Heavy daily feeding: A longer-lasting bag for tanks fed more than once a day.

Feeding Guide

• One to three feeds daily: Dainichi’s standard routine across the Veggie Deluxe range.
• Portion to finish fast: Offer only what fry clear within a few minutes.
• Several light feeds: Reduces bloat risk compared with one larger meal.
• Keep tanks clean: Siphon uneaten pellets from busy grow-out tanks.
