Description

Dainichi Veggie Fx 500g Baby (1mm) Sinking Pellets — Bulk colour-enhancing herbivore pellet for rearing tanks

A fish room running several Tropheus or Petrochromis grow-out tanks wants the colour benefits of Veggie Fx without reordering a trial-sized bag every few weeks. Dainichi Veggie Fx 500g Baby (1mm) Sinking Pellets (SKU: 101491) is the larger pack of Dainichi’s colour-enhancing herbivore formula at the 1 mm pellet size, built on the Veggie Deluxe base and coated and encapsulated with spirulina, freeze-dried Cyclop-eeze and NatuRose, a Haematococcus algae source of astaxanthin, plus E. superba krill. Six colour-enhancing ingredient applications are used, alongside raw vitamins, digestive enzymes and garlic for general health. The pellet is designed to break down into granules in the gut rather than swell, aimed at strict herbivores such as Tropheus that are prone to bloat.

The 1 mm Baby pellet is scaled for fry and juveniles, with adults taking the 3 mm Small grade in the same range. The recipe also includes kelp, white fish meal, soybean meal, wheat flour as binder, shrimp meal, wheat germ, brewer’s yeast, calcium montmorillonite clay, vitamin and mineral mixes, protease and natural gum. Dainichi positions Veggie Fx as one of its two most colour-intensive herbivore formulas. At 500 g, the bag suits several rearing tanks fed this pellet daily rather than a single trial purchase. Feeding follows Dainichi’s standard direction: offer only what the fish consume within a few minutes, one to three times a day, with smaller and more frequent feeds preferred over one large meal. No guaranteed analysis is published for this pack. The range also comes in 100 g and 250 g, and 2.5 kg for larger operations, and as the 3 mm Small pellet for adults.

Usage & Application

When to Use

  • Multiple rearing tanks: A 500 g bag covers several grow-out tanks of juveniles.
  • Breeding programs: Building colour into fry and juveniles as they grow.
  • Bloat-prone young herbivores: A pellet built to break into granules instead of swelling.
  • Heavy daily feeding: A longer-lasting bag for tanks fed more than once a day.

Feeding Guide

  • One to three feeds daily: Dainichi’s standard routine across the Veggie Fx range.
  • Portion to finish fast: Offer only what young fish clear within a few minutes.
  • Several light feeds: Preferred over one larger meal for bloat-prone juveniles.
  • Keep tanks clean: Siphon uneaten pellets from busy grow-out tanks.
