Description
Dainichi Xl Pro 2.5kg Small (3mm) Floating Pellets — Bulk slow-floating pellet for frontosa breeders and cichlid fish rooms
A frontosa breeder or a fish room running several cichlid tanks goes through a floating colour pellet at a rate that makes small bags impractical, and restocking weekly eats into the time better spent on the fish. Dainichi Xl Pro 2.5kg Small (3mm) Floating Pellets (SKU: 101568) is the bulk 2.5 kg pack of the 3 mm Small grade in Dainichi’s XL Pro line, a floating formula of premium marine proteins and natural colour enhancers for robust carnivorous and omnivorous cichlids. The pellet floats at or near the surface before settling, so fish feeding mid-water or at the top across a bank of tanks get their share. At 2.5 kg the pack suits a breeder, a club, or a fish room running multiple cichlid systems.
Antarctic krill and two spirulina types drive the colour claim, aimed at clean, vibrant colour and especially blue, and calcium montmorillonite clay, used across the Dainichi range, encourages mineral intake, binds metabolic toxins and supports the digestive tract. The remaining ingredients are white fish meal, wheat flour and wheat germ, soybean meal and brewer’s yeast, with powdered milk, garlic, protease and gum acacia alongside a vitamin and mineral premix, and only two starch sources are used in the formula. Guaranteed analysis is crude protein 44% minimum, crude fat 6% minimum, crude fibre 3% maximum, moisture 9% maximum and ash 10% maximum. A 2.5 kg bag of the 3 mm floating grade goes a long way across several tanks, and the resealable, UV-light-resistant pouch is worth decanting into smaller sealed containers once it is opened to keep the bulk of it fresh.
Usage & Application
When to Use
- Frontosa breeders: Multiple tanks of sub-adult to adult fish fed from one bulk supply.
- Cichlid fish rooms: A bank of tanks kept on the same floating formula.
- Clubs and co-ops: Bulk stock split between several keepers’ tanks.
- High-volume feeding: A 2.5 kg pack sized to avoid frequent reordering.
Feeding Guide
- Feed to appetite: Offer only what each tank clears within a few minutes.
- Portion it out: Decant working amounts rather than exposing the whole bag at each feed.
- Let it float first: Allow time at the surface before the pellet settles.
- Rotate and reseal: Use older stock first and keep the bag well closed between feeds.
