An adult frontosa or a large Central American cichlid can make short work of a small pellet without ever being properly fed, taking several mouthfuls of a 3 mm grade where one 5 mm pellet would do. Dainichi Xl Pro 250g Medium (5mm) Floating Pellets (SKU: 101453) is the 5 mm Medium grade of Dainichi’s XL Pro line in a floating form, formulated with premium marine proteins and natural colour enhancers for robust carnivorous and omnivorous cichlids. The pellet floats at or near the surface before settling, so fish that feed in open water or at the top of the tank have time to take it. The 250 g pack suits a single tank of adult-sized cichlids on regular feeding.

Antarctic krill and two spirulina types are the colour drivers, aimed at clean, vibrant colour and especially blue, and calcium montmorillonite clay, a feature across the Dainichi range, is included to encourage mineral intake, bind metabolic toxins and support the digestive tract. White fish meal, wheat flour and wheat germ, soybean meal and brewer’s yeast make up the rest of the base, with powdered milk, garlic, protease and gum acacia alongside a vitamin and mineral premix; only two starch sources are used, wheat flour as a binder and wheat germ for vitamins E and B. Guaranteed analysis is crude protein 44% minimum, crude fat 6% minimum, crude fibre 3% maximum, moisture 9% maximum and ash 10% maximum.
