Dainichi Xl Pro 500g Small (3mm) Floating Pellets

Description

Dainichi Xl Pro 500g Small (3mm) Floating Pellets — Larger pack of slow-floating pellets for a growing cichlid colony

A colony of frontosa or a tank of Central American cichlids that is still filling out needs more than a 250 g bag can comfortably supply, and restocking too often becomes a chore. Dainichi Xl Pro 500g Small (3mm) Floating Pellets (SKU: 101566) is the 500 g pack of the 3 mm Small grade in Dainichi’s XL Pro line, a floating formula of premium marine proteins and natural colour enhancers for robust carnivorous and omnivorous cichlids. The pellet floats at or near the surface before settling, suiting fish that feed in open water as readily as at the bottom. The 500 g size suits a growing colony or more than one cichlid tank fed from the same bag.

Antarctic krill and two spirulina types supply the colour claim, aimed at clean, vibrant colour and especially blue, while calcium montmorillonite clay, used across the Dainichi range, encourages mineral intake, binds metabolic toxins and supports the digestive tract. The base is white fish meal, wheat flour and wheat germ, soybean meal and brewer’s yeast, with powdered milk, garlic, protease and gum acacia alongside a vitamin and mineral premix, and only two starch sources are used rather than a longer filler list. Guaranteed analysis is crude protein 44% minimum, crude fat 6% minimum, crude fibre 3% maximum, moisture 9% maximum and ash 10% maximum. The 3 mm Small grade suits sub-adult and smaller adult cichlids, and the resealable, UV-light-resistant pouch is worth keeping well closed between feeds at this larger pack size.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Growing cichlid colonies: A tank of fish not yet at full adult size, feeding regularly.
• Multiple cichlid tanks: One 500 g pack shared between more than one tank.
• Mid-water and surface feeders: Cichlids that take food before it settles.
• Frequent feeding: A pack sized to reduce how often a fresh bag is needed.

Feeding Guide

• Feed to appetite: Offer only as much as the colony clears within a few minutes.
• Let it float first: Allow time at the surface before the pellet settles.
• Several smaller feeds: Preferable to one large daily feeding for active cichlids.
• Reseal between feeds: Keep the remaining pack protected from moisture and light.
