Dymax Cichlid Premium 1.2kg Sinking Pellet (2.0mm) (SKU: DM533) is the bulk pack of Dymax’s herbivorous cichlid food: a 2.0 mm sinking pellet with a formula rich in vegetable content, made to meet the nutritional needs of African cichlids from Lake Malawi and Lake Tanganyika as a daily diet and also suited to other herbivorous tropical fish. The recipe includes prebiotics that Dymax says support health, vigour and digestion, linoleic acid for healthy organs and reproductive capacity, and pure-cultured spirulina for vibrant colour.

At 1.2 kg it holds more than twice the 560 g pack (DM460), which makes it the practical size for fish rooms, cichlid breeders and keepers running several African tanks on one diet. β-glucan is also included to support the immune system, useful where fish are moved, sold or grown on in numbers. Dymax’s feeding instructions are two to three times daily, the amount the fish eat within five minutes, with no overfeeding and leftovers removed after each feed. A large pack is opened many times, so reseal it after each use and keep it cool and dry; decanting a week’s supply into a smaller container limits how often the main pack meets humid air. For fry too small to take a 2.0 mm pellet, a few pellets can be crushed between the fingers until the young fish grow into the full size.
