Dymax Discus Gold 1.2kg Sinking Pellet

Description

Dymax Discus Gold 1.2kg Sinking Pellet — Bulk discus pellet for breeders, grow-out systems and large discus displays

Raising a spawn of discus to a saleable size means feeding hundreds of hungry juveniles several times a day, and that is where a bulk pack earns its place. Dymax Discus Gold 1.2kg Sinking Pellet (SKU: DM534) is the largest pack of Dymax’s discus food, a sinking pellet made as a complete diet from a blend of proteins, indispensable amino acids, vitamins and minerals. Dymax specifically developed it with higher protein levels for rapid, healthy growth of discus and good body structure, with natural flavour attractants for a species known as a finicky eater, and with garlic extract aimed at wild-caught fish. Astaxanthin and other natural ingredients are added to promote vibrant body colour.

At about seven times the contents of the 170 g pack (DM457), the 1.2 kg size is meant for discus breeders, grow-out systems, shops holding newly imported fish and keepers with a large discus display. A prebiotic is included to help the digestive system, which matters when juveniles are fed heavily for growth. Dymax’s feeding directions are two to three times daily, the amount the fish eat within five minutes, avoiding overfeeding and removing anything left after the feeding period. In bare-bottom grow-out tanks, leftovers are easy to see and siphon out before they affect water quality in the warm water discus need. Keep the main pack sealed, cool and dry, and decant a working supply for daily use so the bulk of the pellets stays fresh. A 540 g pack (DM458) sits between the two sizes.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Grow-out systems: Batches of juveniles fed several times every day.
• Breeding programmes: Pairs conditioned on one consistent diet.
• Retail and holding tanks: New arrivals, wild-caught fish included, settling onto a prepared food.
• Large discus displays: Big groups that would empty small packs quickly.

Feeding Guide

• Up to three feeds: Dymax directs two to three meals a day.
• Five minutes per feed: Offer only what is cleared in that time.
• Decant a working supply: Keep the main pack closed, cool and dry.
• Siphon leftovers: Especially in bare-bottom grow-out tanks.
