New Life Spectrum Flakes 600g

Description

New Life Spectrum Flakes 600g — Bulk all-purpose flake food for fish rooms, shops and large community set-ups

A flake food that feeds many tanks needs a pack that matches the throughput, and one that keeps the same recipe from tank to tank. New Life Spectrum Flakes 600g (SKU: 102358) is the bulk size of New Life Spectrum’s Optimum Flakes, made on the Spectrum Nutrition Formula. A retail listing describes the food as an all-purpose flake for freshwater and saltwater fish, and the maker positions it for smaller, surface-feeding community fish. At 600 g this is the largest flake pack in the catalogue, intended for fish rooms, breeders, clubs and households with a lot of tanks, where the 45 g and 90 g tubs would be emptied quickly.

The maker explains the role of flake in its range plainly. Pellets provide higher nutrient density and stability in water, and flake is the solution for fish conditioned to flakes or a way of transitioning from flake foods to New Life Spectrum pellets. The Spectrum formula family is based on whole Antarctic krill and other marine proteins, seaweeds and spirulina, garlic, natural colour-enhancing ingredients and added vitamins and minerals. Flake floats briefly and then sinks slowly, so feeding a bulk pack well comes down to portion control: small pinches, several tanks at a time, with leftovers removed. Because the bulk tub is opened many times, it is worth decanting a working supply into a small container, which keeps the main tub sealed and the flake dry. Households that feed only one or two tanks are better served by the 45 g or 90 g tubs of the same flake.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Fish rooms and breeders: A consistent flake for many community tanks.
• Retail and club systems: Holding systems that go through flake every day.
• Large community displays: Mixed groups of small surface feeders in big tanks.
• Weaning onto pellets: A base flake for gradual moves to New Life Spectrum pellets.

Feeding Guide

• Decant a working tub: Keep a small container at the tank and the 600 g tub sealed.
• Feed small pinches: Offer what the fish clear in a minute or two.
• Rotate the tanks: Feed every tank only what it eats, rather than a set amount.
• Keep moisture out: Close the lid firmly and store the tub cool and dry.
