New Life Spectrum Float Jumbo 1.6kg

Description

New Life Spectrum Float Jumbo 1.6kg — Bulk floating 7.5–8 mm pellet for arowana, oscars and large-fish collections

Keepers of several big predators can get through a pellet food faster than a small bag allows, and the pellets have to be large enough to suit the fish. New Life Spectrum Float Jumbo 1.6kg (SKU: 102338) is the bulk pack of New Life Spectrum’s Naturox series floating pellet in the Jumbo size, 7.5 to 8 mm. It uses the Spectrum Nutrition Formula, which the maker describes as South Antarctic krill and herring with algae meal, spirulina, a fruit and vegetable extract and natural colour-enhancing ingredients, intended to support immune function. The pellets are positively buoyant, so most float, and retail listings name oscars, arowana and Cichlasoma among the surface feeders they suit.

Whole Antarctic krill, whole herring and whole wheat flour head the typical ingredient list, followed by algae, beta carotene, spirulina and garlic, plus vitamins A, D, E and B12, minerals including iodine, cobalt, iron and manganese, and choline chloride. The maker states that the mega-dose anti-parasitic garlic is specific to the Thera+A diets. Jumbo is the top of the Float range; fish that are not yet big enough can use Extra Large at 4.5 to 5 mm or Large at 3 to 3.5 mm. At 1.6 kg this pack is the volume option for fish rooms, public-style displays and keepers with more than one large predator, and it means fewer reorders than the 350 g bag for the same fish.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Several large predators: Arowana, oscars and similar fish that eat every day.
• Fish rooms and displays: One food for a range of big surface feeders.
• Staple feeding: A floating pellet as the main diet rather than an occasional treat.
• Bulk buyers: Keepers who finish a 350 g Jumbo bag in a few weeks.

Feeding Guide

• Feed by count: A few pellets per fish, repeated until feeding slows.
• Decant sensibly: Keep a feeding tub for the week and leave the main bag closed.
• Skim leftovers: Remove floating pellets that remain after a few minutes.
• Store cool and dry: Squeeze out the air and fold the top over after use.
