New Life Spectrum Float Large 190g

Description

New Life Spectrum Float Large 190g — Floating 3–3.5 mm pellet for larger surface-feeding fish

When fish outgrow small pellets they start to mouth them and spit them out, and a floating food at the right size brings the feeding routine back to the surface. New Life Spectrum Float Large 190g (SKU: 102333) is the Large size of New Life Spectrum’s Naturox series floating pellet, 3 to 3.5 mm across. It is made on the Spectrum Nutrition Formula, which the maker describes as South Antarctic krill and herring with algae meal, spirulina, a fruit and vegetable extract and natural colour-enhancing ingredients, intended to support immune function. The pellets have positive buoyancy, so most of them float, and the 190 g bag suits a single large-fish tank or a household that does not need a bulk pack.

The typical ingredient list opens with whole Antarctic krill, whole herring and whole wheat flour, then algae, beta carotene, spirulina and garlic, with vitamins A, D, E and B12, minerals including iodine, cobalt, iron and manganese, and choline chloride. According to the maker, the mega-dose garlic used against parasites is specific to the Thera+A range and is not part of this formula. Large pellets sit between the Medium size at 2 to 2.5 mm and the Extra Large at 4.5 to 5 mm, which makes them a common stepping stone for young cichlids and other fish that are growing into bigger food. Retailers list the same 3 to 3.5 mm Large size across the Spectrum pellet range, including sinking formulas.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Larger surface feeders: Fish that take food at the top and have outgrown Medium pellets.
• Cichlid tanks: A floating pellet that big-mouthed species take readily.
• Single-tank households: A 190 g bag stays fresh when only one or two tanks are fed.
• Size transition: The step between 2.5 mm and 4.5 mm foods as fish grow.

Feeding Guide

• Offer small amounts: Feed what the fish eat within a minute or so.
• Check the spit test: Fish that reject Large pellets may still need Medium; fish that swallow without effort can move up.
• Clear the surface: Remove floating leftovers before the lights go out.
• Seal the bag: Close it after each feed and store it cool and dry.
