New Life Spectrum Giant Sinking 2.2kg

Description

New Life Spectrum Giant Sinking 2.2kg — Bulk 10–10.5 mm sinking pellet for very large fish

Very large fish need a pellet they can actually take into the mouth, and a pack big enough to feed them for months. New Life Spectrum Giant Sinking 2.2kg (SKU: 102279) is an oversize pellet from New Life Spectrum, 10 to 10.5 mm across, supplied in a 2.2 kg bag. The catalogue copy describes it as a nutrient-dense all-purpose fish food, and as a sinking pellet it settles toward the bottom of the tank rather than floating. It is sold under the New Life Spectrum name, whose pellet range is built on the Spectrum Nutrition Formula of whole Antarctic krill and other marine proteins, seaweeds, spirulina, garlic and natural colour-enhancing ingredients.

New Life Spectrum recommends feeding its diets exclusively for good results, and states for its pellet foods that the amount offered should be eaten within about a minute. At 10 mm a single pellet is a mouthful even for a big catfish or cichlid, so portions are counted in pellets rather than scoops. The brand’s Float range stops at Jumbo, 7.5 to 8 mm, and this Giant size goes beyond it for species that find even that too small. Because the pack is 2.2 kg, it suits a large display or a collector with several big fish. Guaranteed analysis and ingredient details for this specific size could not be confirmed from a maker page, so none are quoted.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Very large fish: Species whose mouths are too big for 7.5 to 8 mm pellets.
• Bottom-oriented feeders: Large catfish and other fish that take sinking food.
• Several big fish: A 2.2 kg bag lasts across a group of large predators.
• Mixed diets: A sinking pellet to sit alongside floating foods in a large tank.

Feeding Guide

• Count the pellets: Offer a few per fish and add more only if they are cleared.
• Feed to a minute: Give an amount that is eaten within about a minute.
• Target the fish: Drop pellets near the fish that sit low in the tank so faster fish do not take them all.
• Store sealed: Close the bag after each feed and keep it cool and dry.
