Description
New Life Spectrum Goldfish Large 150g — Larger 3–3.5 mm sinking pellet for adult and big-bodied goldfish
As goldfish grow, a 1 mm pellet becomes a snack that takes dozens of mouthfuls, and a bigger pellet makes each feed quicker and tidier. New Life Spectrum Goldfish Large 150g (SKU: 102355) is New Life Spectrum’s goldfish diet in the Large pellet size of 3 to 3.5 mm. It is a nutrient-dense sinking pellet for goldfish, made from easily digested ingredients. The Goldfish formula as described by a retailer is a complete, balanced diet built to support overall health, immune function and colour, with krill and menhaden fish, added vitamins A, D and E, and garlic, which the maker says aids acceptance and gives natural anti-parasitic benefits.
The listed ingredients for the Goldfish formula start with whole Antarctic krill, giant squid, whole menhaden fish and omega-3 fish oil, with whole wheat flour, bentonite clay, seaweeds including kelp, chlorella and wakame, spirulina, garlic and ginger. Colour-enhancing ingredients are astaxanthin, marigold, capsanthin and zeaxanthin. The maker states there are no artificial colours, flavours, hormones or preservatives, and recommends feeding the diet exclusively. Its directions on the Goldfish pellet are to feed twice daily, in an amount the fish can finish in about a minute. This Large size is for fish that have outgrown the Regular 1 to 1.5 mm pellet, which the maker positions for small ornamental goldfish. The guaranteed analysis was confirmed only for the Regular pellet, so no figures are quoted here.
Usage & Application
When to Use
- Adult goldfish: Fish whose mouths take a 3 mm pellet comfortably.
- Growing fish: A step up from the Regular size as goldfish gain body length.
- Mixed-size groups: Tanks where larger fish dominate the feed.
- Sinking-food routine: Keepers who prefer pellets that sink slowly into the water.
Feeding Guide
- Twice daily: Follow the maker’s goldfish feeding pattern.
- Finish in a minute: Give only what the fish clear in about a minute.
- Check the size: If a fish still struggles with a 3 mm pellet, go back to the Regular size.
- Feed on its own: New Life Spectrum recommends exclusive feeding for good results.
