New Life Spectrum Insectum Large 150g

Description

New Life Spectrum Insectum Large 150g — Insect-protein 3–3.5 mm sinking pellet in a small trial pack

Many fish eat insects in the wild, and a pellet built on insect protein brings that diet into the aquarium. New Life Spectrum Insectum Large 150g (SKU: 124772) is the Large pellet of New Life Spectrum’s Insectum range, a sinking pellet of 3 to 3.5 mm. The maker lists five insect proteins, mealworms, silkworms, black soldier fly larvae, crickets and grasshoppers, as the source of essential amino acids that mimic the natural diet. Insectum is built on the soy-free Spectrum Nutrition Formula, which features whole Antarctic krill and omega-3 protein, along with aquatic proteins and plant matter. This 150 g tub is the smallest Large pack, enough to test whether the fish take the food.

Insectum also contains moringa leaf, which the maker describes as packed with vitamin A, vitamin D, calcium and potassium with five antioxidants. A retailer calls it a high-quality daily food for a wide variety of fish and lists fish oil among the ingredients, without naming particular species. The pellet sinks, so it reaches fish that feed in midwater and on the bottom. The range is made in Regular at 1 to 1.5 mm, Medium at 2 to 2.5 mm and Large at 3 to 3.5 mm, and the Large size is for fish with a bigger mouth or an appetite for larger pieces. Guaranteed analysis was not available from the sources used, so none is quoted. The 150 g size suits a single tank or a first trial.
