New Life Spectrum Insectum Medium 2.2kg

Description

New Life Spectrum Insectum Medium 2.2kg — Bulk 2–2.5 mm sinking insect pellets for fish rooms and large collections

A collection of mid-size fish eats through food steadily, and a bulk pack keeps one batch of one recipe in every tank. New Life Spectrum Insectum Medium 2.2kg (SKU: 124771) is the 2.2 kg size of Insectum Medium, the 2 to 2.5 mm sinking pellet from New Life Spectrum that is built on insect protein. The maker names five sources, mealworms, silkworm pupae, black soldier fly larvae, crickets and grasshoppers, alongside whole Antarctic krill and fish oil in its soy-free Spectrum Nutrition Formula. Moringa leaf is included for vitamins A and D, calcium, potassium and protein. This is the largest Medium pack, holding almost fifteen times the 150 g size.

At the Medium grade the pellet suits the widest range of aquarium fish, from grown-out juveniles to adult community species, which makes it the usual choice for a shop, a club or a fish room feeding many tanks from a single supply. New Life Spectrum describes Insectum as a daily food suited to a wide variety of fish, and it recommends feeding its diets exclusively. The directions published for the maker’s other sinking pellets are two feeds a day with a portion finished in about a minute. A pack of this size should be treated as a stock holding rather than a feeding jar: decant what is needed for a few weeks, keep the rest sealed, cool and dry, and use it in order. Keepers with small-mouthed or very large fish can run the Regular and Large grades next to it.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Fish rooms and shops: One staple pellet across many tanks of mid-size fish.
• Clubs and large collections: Shared purchases where pack size keeps ordering simple.
• Breeders: Grow-out stock that has moved beyond the finest pellet.
• Long-term feeding: A planned insect-protein programme over several months.

Feeding Guide

• Work from a day tub: Refill a small dry container rather than opening the bulk pack daily.
• Two feeds each day: Keep portions to what is eaten in about a minute.
• Label the date: Note when the bulk pack was opened and use the oldest food first.
• Protect from moisture: Keep the pack out of humid fish rooms where possible.
