Insects make up a large part of the diet of many freshwater fish in the wild, and Insectum puts several of them into a pellet that sinks. New Life Spectrum Insectum Medium 300g (SKU: 124769) is the 300 g pack of the Medium grade, a 2 to 2.5 mm pellet from New Life Spectrum. The insect protein comes from mealworms, silkworm pupae, black soldier fly larvae, crickets and grasshoppers, and the base is the maker’s soy-free Spectrum Nutrition Formula with whole Antarctic krill and fish oil. The maker includes moringa leaf for vitamins A and D, calcium, potassium, protein and antioxidants. As the middle pellet size in a mid-range pack, it is the most common choice for a single established tank.

The Medium pellet suits fish that are too large for the Regular 1 to 1.5 mm grade but do not need the 3 to 3.5 mm Large pellet, which covers a lot of mid-size barbs, gouramis, loaches and cichlids.
