New Life Spectrum Insectum Regular 150g

Description

New Life Spectrum Insectum Regular 150g — Sinking 1–1.5 mm insect-protein pellet for small-mouthed fish

Small fish have small mouths, but they still do well on the insect protein that wild fish pick up in the water and on its surface, and a fine pellet can carry it. New Life Spectrum Insectum Regular 150g (SKU: 124764) is the Regular-size version of Insectum, a sinking pellet from New Life Spectrum built on the soy-free Spectrum Nutrition Formula. The maker describes insect protein in five forms (mealworms, silkworm pupae, black soldier fly larvae, crickets and grasshoppers) on a base of whole Antarctic krill and fish oil, with moringa leaf added as a source of vitamins A and D, calcium, potassium, protein and antioxidants. The Regular pellet is 1 to 1.5 mm, and this 150 g pack is the smallest in the line, enough for a single tank or a trial of the food.

Insectum is made in three pellet sizes, Regular (1–1.5 mm), Medium (2–2.5 mm) and Large (3–3.5 mm), so the same recipe can follow fish as they grow or be matched to different tanks in one home. New Life Spectrum presents it as a daily diet suited to a wide variety of fish, and it advises feeding its diets exclusively. Directions published for the maker’s other sinking pellets are to feed twice daily, with a portion eaten in about a minute, which is a sensible starting point here and can be adjusted to the stocking level. Because the pellets sink slowly through the water, they reach mid-water fish as well as those that pick from the bottom.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Small community fish: Species with small mouths that need a 1 mm class pellet.
• Juveniles: Young fish that will move up to Medium or Large as they grow.
• Insect-based diet: A staple that brings several insect proteins into the menu.
• Trial pack: A 150 g size to test acceptance before buying a larger jar.

Feeding Guide

• Two small feeds daily: Offer only what the fish clear in about a minute.
• Scatter widely: Spread the pellets so smaller or shyer fish get their share.
• Remove leftovers: Siphon out uneaten pellets from the substrate after feeding.
• Store sealed: Close the pack after each feed and keep it cool and dry.
