New Life Spectrum Koi Basics 1.6kg

Description

New Life Spectrum Koi Basics 1.6kg — Floating 5.5–6 mm everyday koi pellet in a small pond-size pack

A koi pond that is fed daily needs a staple food that floats, is easy to watch the fish take, and does not leave the water cloudy with waste. New Life Spectrum Koi Basics 1.6kg (SKU: 724776) is the smallest pack of Koi Basics, the everyday floating pellet in New Life Spectrum’s koi range. The pellet is 5.5 to 6 mm. The maker describes a high-density food that combines krill, fish oil, seaweeds and insect protein, with aquatic vegetables added, and says it contains no soybean additives. Five insect proteins are named: silkworm pupae, black soldier fly larvae, mealworms, grasshoppers and crickets. The food is made in the USA.

New Life Spectrum says its koi foods provide the variety koi need in a single pellet, and that the high density means less waste and more feedings from each bag. Basics is the staple of the range, sitting alongside Koi Grow for young fish and Koi Show for colour-focused feeding. At 1.6 kg this pack suits a small pond, a few koi in a backyard or a keeper who wants to test acceptance before buying a larger bag. The pack directions should be followed for feeding rates, but the usual koi routine applies: small amounts several times a day while the water is warm, reduced as temperatures fall, and nothing left on the surface after a few minutes. Because the pellets float, appetite is easy to judge, and any that remain can be netted out before they break down.
