New Life Spectrum Koi Grow 4.5kg

Description

New Life Spectrum Koi Grow 4.5kg — Floating growth pellet for young koi in a bag sized for grow-out ponds

Raising young koi through a season means feeding many small mouths often, and the food bill rises with every fish. New Life Spectrum Koi Grow 4.5kg (SKU: 724783) is the 4.5 kg bag of Koi Grow, New Life Spectrum’s growth pellet for juvenile koi. It floats and comes in a smaller form than the 5.5 to 6 mm pellets of Koi Basics and Koi Show. The formula is a koi-tuned version of the Spectrum Nutrition Formula, the same base used across New Life Spectrum’s pond and aquarium foods. The maker describes its koi foods as high-density pellets built on krill, fish oil, seaweeds and insect protein with aquatic vegetables, and as having no soybean additives. The bag is the larger of the two Koi Grow sizes, close to three times the 1.6 kg pack.

New Life Spectrum names five insect proteins for its koi range: silkworm pupae, black soldier fly larvae, mealworms, grasshoppers and crickets. The idea behind a growth pellet is to give young fish a food they can swallow easily and that supports steady development, and the formula is tuned to the needs of carp-type pond fish. A keeper raising a spawn, running several grow-out tubs or stocking a pond with juveniles will use this size faster than a keeper with a handful of adults. Once the fish are bigger, Koi Basics takes over as the daily staple and Koi Show suits those being kept for colour. As with any koi food, feeding rates are given on the pack and are cut back when the water cools; storing the bag sealed and out of the sun protects the oils in the pellets.
