New Life Spectrum Large Sinking 300g

Description

New Life Spectrum Large Sinking 300g — 3 to 3.5 mm sinking pellet for larger cichlids and big community fish

A severum or a full-grown Malawi cichlid will chase a small pellet, but it takes a lot of them to make a meal, and the ones it misses end up in the gravel. New Life Spectrum Large Sinking 300g (SKU: 102276) is the 300 g jar of New Life Spectrum’s everyday sinking pellet in the large 3 to 3.5 mm size, sold in Australia under the Tropical Fish label. The recipe is the brand’s Spectrum Nutrition Formula, intended for omnivores, herbivores and carnivores in both freshwater and marine aquariums, with whole Antarctic krill and whole menhaden as the main protein and no soybean products. The large pellet gives bigger fish a proper mouthful and sinks to where cichlids and catfish feed.

Giant squid, omega-3 fish oil, whole wheat flour, seaweeds and kelp, chlorella, spirulina, garlic and ginger fill out the formula. Garlic is included for flavour, and colour comes from astaxanthin, marigold, capsanthin and zeaxanthin; New Life Spectrum states it uses no hormones. Because the maker builds the pellet to be nutrient dense, less food goes in for the same nutrition and less waste is left behind. A 300 g jar suits a single large-fish display, or a medium tank of growing cichlids, fed twice a day.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Larger cichlids: Severums, Malawi and Tanganyikan cichlids and other robust species.
• Big community fish: Larger gouramis, barbs, rainbowfish and catfish.
• Marine fish-only tanks: Tangs, larger angels and wrasses that take a sinking pellet.
• Growing fish: Juveniles that have moved up from the medium pellet.

Feeding Guide

• Twice daily: Give only what is eaten within about a minute, as New Life Spectrum directs.
• Let it sink: Drop pellets where bottom-feeding cichlids and catfish can find them.
• Avoid leftovers: Large uneaten pellets foul the water quickly, so net them out.
• Combine sizes: Add a medium pellet if smaller tankmates share the tank.
