New Life Spectrum Large Sinking 600g

Description

New Life Spectrum Large Sinking 600g — Bulk 3 to 3.5 mm pellet for big cichlid tanks and large marine fish

A large display packed with African cichlids gets through a small jar in weeks, and keeping the whole group on one diet is simpler with a bulk pack. New Life Spectrum Large Sinking 600g (SKU: 102277) is the 600 g pack of New Life Spectrum’s sinking daily pellet, the Tropical Fish formula, in the large 3 to 3.5 mm size. It is the brand’s Spectrum Nutrition Formula, designed as a complete diet for omnivorous, herbivorous and carnivorous fish in fresh or salt water, and its protein comes from whole Antarctic krill and whole menhaden rather than soybean products. The 600 g quantity is aimed at big tanks, colonies and fish rooms that feed large fish every day.

Along with krill and fish, the recipe includes giant squid, omega-3 fish oil, whole wheat flour, kelp and other seaweeds, chlorella, spirulina, garlic and ginger, plus bentonite clay and sea salt. New Life Spectrum preserves the marine oils with Naturox, a natural antioxidant, and states the food contains no hormones or artificial colours, flavours and preservatives. Vitamins A, D and E are added at stated minimums. The maker’s direction is to feed twice daily, no more than is eaten within a minute, and not to overfeed, which matters most with a pellet this size.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Large cichlid colonies: Groups of Malawi, Tanganyikan or Central American cichlids.
• Big community displays: Tanks of larger barbs, gouramis, rainbowfish and catfish.
• Fish-only marine systems: Tangs, angels and other large marine fish on a sinking staple.
• Fish rooms: Grow-out and breeding tanks for larger species.

Feeding Guide

• One-minute rule: Twice daily, only what is gone within about a minute.
• Feed across the tank: Spread pellets so subordinate fish are not pushed out.
• Keep the bulk sealed: Decant a week or two’s supply and reseal the main pack.
• Clear the bottom: Remove uneaten large pellets before they break down.
