Opti Clear glass 6mm 90x26x26

Description

Opti Clear glass 6mm 90x26x26 — Bare optically clear glass aquarium, 6 mm panels

A long display tank puts more load on its front and side panes than a small cube does, which is why the larger sizes in a glass range step up in thickness rather than staying uniform across the board. Opti Clear glass 6mm 90x26x26 (SKU: OC60) is the long-format model in Absolute’s Opti Clear bare glass aquarium range, built from optically clear glass for a brighter, less green-tinted view than standard float glass, with no lid, light or filter fitted. It measures 90 x 26 x 26 cm and uses 6 mm glass panels rather than the 5 mm used on the smaller cubes in the same range, giving the longer, unsupported front pane the extra rigidity it needs once the tank is filled.

At 90 x 26 x 26 cm the tank holds roughly 60.8 L and is sized for a community of small to medium fish, a planted aquascape with more horizontal space to work with, or a shrimp colony that benefits from the longer footprint. It sits at the top of the Opti Clear range alongside the smaller 5 mm cubes at 30 x 30 x 30 cm, 35 x 35 x 35 cm and 60 x 24 x 24 cm and the 6 mm 40 x 40 x 40 cm cube, all finished with the same clear silicone at the joints so the seams stay as unobtrusive as the glass itself. Because the tank is bare, a filter and light are chosen and fitted separately to suit the stocking and planting plan, and the stand underneath needs to be rated for the combined weight of the tank, substrate and roughly 60 L of water once filled, which is considerably more than the smaller cubes in the range require.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Community and aquascaped displays: A 90 x 26 x 26 cm footprint at roughly 60.8 L.
• Long planted layouts: Extra horizontal space compared with the cube sizes in the range.
• Custom equipment set-ups: A bare tank for a keeper fitting their own light and filter.
• Display tanks: Optically clear glass for a sharper view than standard float glass.

Installation & Setup Guide

• Use a rated, level stand: Support the combined weight of tank, substrate and roughly 60 L of water.
• Handle empty with care: Lift from the base rather than the rim, since there is no top frame.
• Fit equipment before filling: Position the chosen filter, heater and light before adding water.
• Cycle before stocking: Run filtration for several weeks before introducing fish or shrimp.
