Description
Basalt Gravel is an ideal substrate for freshwater aquariums, especially those housing timid or skittish fish that prefer dark, natural-looking substrates. The dark colour helps reduce stress, encouraging fish to display more natural behaviour.
Made from natural, aquarium-safe material, basalt gravel does not damage fish and does not alter water chemistry, making it suitable for stable freshwater setups (with the exception of specialty substrates such as dolomite gravel, which are designed to affect water parameters).
With a 2–4 mm grain size, this gravel is suitable for a wide range of aquarium setups, including community tanks and planted aquariums, providing a balanced surface that supports plant anchoring while remaining comfortable for fish.
Supplied in durable 2 kg and 10 kg bags, it is easy to handle, store, and display.
