Aqua Illumination Orbit 2 Cross Flow Pump (SKU: HYOR2) creates a cross-flow current that AI describes as simulating the tidal flow of an ocean reef, pushing water across the entire length of the aquarium rather than out of a single nozzle. The slim body, 223 mm wide, 71.9 mm high and 38.1 mm deep, mounts horizontally or vertically on a magnet rated for glass to 15 mm, and its quiet DC motor draws at most 25 W. AI sizes it for aquariums of about 75 to 330 L and more.

Four modes are built in, constant speed, pulse, random and reverse, and the pump runs forward or in reverse so a single unit can send flow both ways along the tank. Control comes through the myAI or Mobius app over Bluetooth, a Neptune Apex with the MXM module, or the button on the integrated driver, which steps through 1, 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 percent plus feed mode.
