A longer reef tank spreads its light thinner, so the corners nearest the ends often sit under less actinic glow than the centre unless the fixture is sized for the whole run. Aquael Leddy Slim 36w Actinic White 100-120cm (SKU: 102408) is the 36 W, largest-length version of Aquael’s open-tank Leddy Slim range, built for marine and reef aquariums from 100 to 120 cm (Aquael’s spec sheet extends the sliding brackets to 127 cm). Like the smaller 32 W unit in the same line, it pairs a white marine diode row at around 10,000 K with an actinic row at roughly 20,000 K, so the lamp covers both the daytime viewing spectrum and the deep blue that drives coral fluorescence, on a single flat bar that rests on the glass rim.

The extra length means more diodes rather than a brighter unit per centimetre, so coverage stays even across a 100 to 120 cm tank instead of fading toward the corners the way a shorter lamp stretched past its range would. The two colour channels run on independent power so white and actinic can be timed separately, typically white through the display hours and actinic either side of it for a sunrise and sunset effect. Aquael builds the housing from corrosion-resistant materials for saltwater use and states the Leddy Slim range runs at roughly half the energy of an equivalent fluorescent tube while lasting substantially longer.
