Aquael Leddy Smart 4.8w Day & Night White

Description

Aquael Leddy Smart 4.8w Day & Night White — Minimalist clip-on nano light with daytime and moonlight settings

A small aquarium on a light-coloured desk or stand often suits a white fixture better than a black one, and a nano tank still needs the same day-to-night lighting a larger aquarium gets. Aquael Leddy Smart 4.8w Day & Night White (SKU: 113142) is the white-housed version of Aquael’s Leddy Smart clip-on light, built for small freshwater aquariums up to about 50 L and 35 cm tall, with a slide-on arm that clips directly onto the tank’s glass edge up to 6 mm thick, removing the need for a bracket or stand. Aquael rates the lamp at 4.8 W, with efficiency the maker compares to a 14 W linear fluorescent tube.

The lamp runs three built-in settings: DAY gives full-strength Sunny-spectrum light at around 520 lumens and 7,000 K; DAYBREAK drops to half that output with added blue for a gentler transition either side of the main photoperiod; and NIGHT switches to a dim blue glow so fish can be watched after the day’s lighting ends without fully illuminating the tank. These are switched by hand on the lamp, or through Aquael’s separately sold SOCKET link DUO controller, an app-controlled socket that can switch the lamp on a schedule without the keeper manually flicking modes each day. Aquael states the LEDs last up to 15,000 hours, and the lamp’s thin, roughly 1 cm body sits flush against the glass rather than arching over the aquarium, keeping the white housing unobtrusive on a small tank.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Nano and betta tanks: Freshwater tanks up to 50 L and 35 cm tall with glass up to 6 mm thick.
• Light-coloured furniture or cabinets: A white body that suits a pale desk, shelf or stand.
• Day-to-night viewing: Switching between bright daytime light and a dim evening glow in one lamp.
• Automated lighting schedules: Pairing with the separate app-controlled SOCKET link DUO for remote switching.

How to Use / Installation Process

• Slide the arm onto the glass: Clip the lamp directly onto the tank’s top edge, glass up to 6 mm thick.
• Run DAY mode for the main photoperiod: Use the full 520-lumen Sunny setting for daytime viewing.
• Ease into DAYBREAK at the edges of the day: Switch to the 50%-power blue-tinted setting before lights-on or lights-off.
• Use NIGHT for after-hours viewing: Switch to the blue glow instead of leaving the tank in full darkness.
