Aquael Leddy Smart 4.8w Plant & Night White

Description

Aquael Leddy Smart 4.8w Plant & Night White — Clip-on LED with day, daybreak and night modes for nano tanks

A nano tank on a desk gets looked at after dark as often as during the day, and a single fixture that can do both saves buying a second light. Aquael Leddy Smart 4.8w Plant & Night White (SKU: 124683) is Aquael’s clip-on LED light for small freshwater aquariums, built on a PLANT-spectrum diode array rated at 9000 K and about 350 lm from 4.8 W, which Aquael states is comparable in output to a 14 W traditional fluorescent tube of the same length. The thin, white lamp head sits on an arm that clips over the aquarium glass, and the diodes are rated for up to 15,000 hours before any drop in output, so there is no tube or globe to replace.

Three modes cover a full day: DAY runs the full-strength PLANT spectrum for photosynthesis, DAYBREAK drops to roughly half power with added blue light for the hour either side of DAY, and NIGHT switches to a dim blue glow for watching nocturnal fish without disturbing them. Modes are cycled by switching the lamp off and on briefly, at the socket or power point; a longer power interruption resets the light back to DAY. The clip takes glass up to 6 mm thick and Aquael sizes the fixture for aquariums of 10 to 50 L with a water height up to 35 cm, which covers most nano and desktop setups. The light can also be paired with Aquael’s SOCKET Link Duo controller, sold separately, for app-based scheduling and remote mode switching instead of manual cycling at the plug.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Nano planted tanks: PLANT spectrum sized for aquariums from 10 to 50 L.
• Desks and living areas: A night mode for viewing fish after the room lights go off.
• Mixed day/night routines: One fixture instead of separate day and moon lights.
• Shallow to mid-height tanks: Rated for a water column up to 35 cm.

Installation & Setup Guide

• Fit the clip: Slide the mounting arm onto glass up to 6 mm thick at the rear of the tank.
• Position the head: Angle the lamp head over the water so light spreads evenly across the tank.
• Cycle modes: Switch off and back on briefly to step through DAY, DAYBREAK and NIGHT.
• Add automation (optional): Pair with the SOCKET Link Duo controller for app-scheduled mode changes.
