Aquael Leddy Smart 6w Plant White

Description

Aquael Leddy Smart 6w Plant White — Single-spectrum clip-on LED for plant growth in nano aquariums

Not every nano tank needs a night mode, and a simpler fixture that puts its whole output into one growth-focused spectrum can be the better fit for a planted bowl or cube. Aquael Leddy Smart 6w Plant White (SKU: 101186) is Aquael’s clip-on LED light from the Leddy Smart 2 range, a single-mode PLANT lamp drawing 6 W through fifteen LEDs that Aquael describes as giving uniform illumination across the tank rather than a hot spot at the centre. Unlike the Day & Night version of the Leddy Smart range, this lamp has no daybreak or moonlight cycle; it runs one continuous plant-growth spectrum, switched on and off at the plug or a power point.

The housing is white plastic, built to clip directly onto the aquarium frame or glass without a separate stand or bracket, and Aquael’s build keeps a backup set of diodes dark until a primary LED fails, extending the working life of the fixture rather than dimming output as diodes age. It is positioned for freshwater nano and desktop aquariums where the goal is steady light for low to medium-light plants, not a display cycle that mimics sunrise and sunset. There is no app or wireless control on this model; mode and power are managed entirely through the on/off switch on the cord. Aquael’s own listing covers this lamp only in the Plant spectrum, in black or white housings.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Nano planted tanks: A straightforward growth light where a day/night cycle is not needed.
• Budget upgrades: Simpler alternative to the Day & Night Leddy Smart for a tank already lit on its own schedule.
• Desktop cubes and bowls: Clip-on fitting suits small, frameless or rimmed tanks.
• Consistent plant lighting: One fixed spectrum rather than switching between modes.

Installation & Setup Guide

• Clip it on: Fit the mounting arm to the back or side glass of the tank.
• Aim the head: Angle the lamp so the fifteen LEDs spread light evenly over the water.
• Switch on: Use the cord switch; there are no modes to cycle through.
• Run on a timer: Pair with a standard mains timer for a consistent photoperiod, since the lamp has no built-in scheduling.
