A marine tank lit by a weak fluorescent tube keeps fish alive but does little for coral growth or colour, and swapping the whole fixture is not always necessary. Aquael Retrofit 10w Marine 55-60cm (SKU: 102560) is Aquael’s Leddy Tube Retrofit LED bar in the marine spectrum, designed to replace a 55 to 60 cm T5 or T8 fluorescent tube in an existing hood. The bare module runs about 41.5 cm with its own independent power supply, and the pack includes a mounting bracket with T5/T8 mounts that extends it to fit a 55 to 60 cm aquarium. The spectrum is a daylight-leaning blue-white at around 10,000 K, the balance Aquael aims at coral growth and natural marine colouration rather than the deep blue of an actinic tube, and it can be run alone on a lightly stocked reef or paired with an actinic tube for more blue. Because the unit carries its own power supply, it fits into most existing hoods and lamp bodies, including one whose original fluorescent ballast has failed, without the fixture needing rewiring.
