The bare LED module runs roughly 70 cm with its own independent power supply, and the pack includes a mounting bracket with T5/T8 mounts that extends the fitting to the full 85 to 90 cm length. The spectrum is a daylight-leaning blue-white at around 10,000 K, the balance Aquael uses across its marine LEDDY tubes for coral growth and natural reef colouration rather than the deep blue of an actinic tube, and it can run alone on a lightly stocked tank or alongside an actinic tube for extra blue. Because the unit has its own power supply, it fits into most existing hoods and lamp bodies, including one whose original fluorescent ballast has failed, without the fixture needing rewiring.
