The Chihiros A II sits on fixed acrylic supports, so each light fits one tank length exactly, and a 30 cm light looks lost on a 40 cm tank. Standard A II lights come with transparent acrylic legs that clamp onto rimless glass up to about 8 mm thick, and with those legs fitted the light measures its nominal length, for example 300 mm on the A II 301. The adjustable holder takes the place of those legs when the tank is longer than the light, which is common with odd sizes, older tanks and second-hand lights moved to a new aquarium.
