The 60 cm tank is the most common size in aquascaping, and it is also where a cheap light first shows its limits once stem plants reach the surface. Chihiros Series B II 60cm (SKU: D-CB-60) is the B60 in Chihiros’ B series, a 576 mm aluminium LED on extendable feet for tanks 60 to 80 cm long. Sixty LEDs are set in rows, 48 white along the outside and 12 RGB 3-in-1 through the middle, drawing 37.1 W for a listed 2,214 lumens, roughly a quarter more than the B45 and enough to cover a full 60 cm footprint.

This non-Bluetooth fixture switches on and off with its power supply; for dimming, a daily timer and sunrise and sunset ramps it pairs with the Chihiros Commander 1 Bluetooth controller, sold separately, run from the My Chihiros app. The feet clamp onto glass up to 8 mm, which suits most 60 cm rimless tanks, and the profile is 12 mm high by 56 mm deep. Aquasabi notes that Chihiros’ lumen figures come from the laboratory, that B series lights are not designed for use under a closed lid, and that a tank deeper than 40 cm planted with carpets or demanding species may need two lights. A second B60 side by side is one way to do that on a deep 60 cm tank.

How to Use / Installation Process

• Extend to fit: Adjust the feet to the tank, 60 to 80 cm.
• Clamp on: Seat the feet on rimless glass up to 8 mm.
• Add the Commander 1: Connect it between the light and its power supply.
• Program in the app: Set ramps, intensity and a moderate photoperiod to start.
