Mag-float Mini (l45 X W25 X H20mm) — Floating magnetic glass cleaner for nano aquariums and bowls

A nano tank or a betta bowl is too small for a cleaner built for a display aquarium, and dragging a hand through a few litres of water to wipe the glass defeats the point of a small, tidy setup. Mag-float Mini (l45 X W25 X H20mm) (SKU: BM100475) is the smallest cleaner in Gulfstream Tropical Aquarium’s Mag-Float range, a two-piece magnetic cleaner measuring 45 x 25 x 20 mm for bowls and tanks where a standard-size cleaner would not fit. An outer magnet, moved by hand on the outside of the tank, pulls an inner magnet across the inside surface, so algae is scraped away without putting a hand in the water. The inner half carries an abrasive scrubbing pad and is rated for glass up to 3 mm thick. Both halves are sealed in non-toxic plastic over a neodymium magnet pair.

The Mini is built for glass, acrylic and plastic tank walls alike, so it suits round bowls as readily as rectangular nano glass. If the two halves separate, the lighter inner magnet is buoyant and rises to the surface rather than settling into the substrate, which keeps gravel or sand out of the scrubbing pad. A plastic spacer is supplied to keep the magnet pair apart in storage. The feeding clips and scraper blades in the Mag-Float range start at the Small and Long sizes. Three further sizes cover larger tanks: Small, Large and Xlarge, each stepped up in body size and rated glass thickness.

Usage & Application

When to Use

  • Nano aquariums: Light film algae on small tanks where a larger cleaner will not clear the gravel or decor.
  • Betta and shrimp bowls: Round or small acrylic bowls with walls up to 3 mm thick.
  • Thin plastic tanks: Lightweight plastic enclosures that a heavier cleaner could mark or flex.
  • Between full cleans: Quick wipe-downs that do not need a full gravel vacuum.

Cleaning Technique Guide

  • Start dry-handed: Hold the outer magnet against the glass and let the inner half couple through from inside.
  • Work in overlapping passes: Move the outer magnet in slow, overlapping strokes to lift algae evenly.
  • Store with the spacer: Fit the supplied spacer between the two halves when the cleaner is not in use.
  • Retrieve by floating: If the halves separate, let the inner magnet float to the surface rather than reaching in.
