Mag Float Pad & Felt Set Large Plus – Suits 100497 (lge+)

Description

Mag Float Pad & Felt Set Large Plus – Suits 100497 (lge+) — Replacement scrubbing pad and felt for the Mag-Float Scrape Large+

The Scrape Large+ sees the same wear on its scrubbing surfaces as any other Mag-Float, since the pad and felt do the physical work of lifting algae while the scraper blade handles the harder deposits. Mag Float Pad & Felt Set Large Plus – Suits 100497 (lge+) (SKU: BM200402) is Gulfstream Tropical Aquarium’s replacement set for the Mag-float Scrape Lge+ (SKU BM100497), supplied as one algae-scrubbing pad for the inner magnet and one felt pad, carrying the Mag-Float logo, for the outer magnet. Cleaning a large aquarium with glass up to the 20 mm this cleaner is rated for wears the pad faster than on smaller sizes simply because there is more glass to cover on each pass.

The set is fitted the same way across the Mag-Float range: remove the old pad or felt, clear any leftover adhesive from the plastic housing with mineral spirits on a cloth, allow the surface to dry fully, then press the new piece on while peeling its backing paper away gradually, which avoids air bubbles forming under the adhesive. It is sized for the Large Plus housing and is not listed for the standard Large, the Scrape Lge or any of the smaller sizes. The set is intended for glass aquariums, matching the Scrape Lge+ cleaner itself, and suits freshwater and marine systems alike.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Worn pad: Algae film no longer lifts cleanly from large, thick-glass panes.
• Damaged felt: The outer magnet risks scratching the glass once its felt wears through.
• Scrape Lge+ owners: The specific replacement set for this size of cleaner.
• Reef and display glass: Keeps the cleaner effective on the heavier panes it is built for.

Installation & Replacement Guide

• Remove the worn piece: Peel the old pad or felt off the plastic housing carefully.
• Clean the housing: Wipe away leftover glue with mineral spirits on a cloth, with gloves on.
• Dry before fitting: Make sure the surface is fully dry before the new piece goes on.
• Press as you peel: Remove the backing paper gradually while pressing the pad down to avoid air bubbles.
