Usage & Application

When to Use

• Active Bacterial Outbreaks: Dose immediately at the first signs of fin fraying, cloudy eyes, mouth fungus, or open red sores.

• Introducing New Fish: Add to display tanks or quarantine systems when acclimatising new livestock to minimise the transfer of pathogens and reduce environmental stress.

• Injury & Post-Handling Recovery: Use after netting, handling, or territorial fighting to accelerate skin and fin regrowth.

How to Use

1. Shake the bottle thoroughly before use.

2. Remove active carbon from your filter and turn off UV sterilisers or protein skimmers throughout the treatment cycle.

3. Dosage Rate: Add 5 mL of API Melafix per 38 L (10 US gallons) of aquarium water.

4. Treatment Schedule: Dose daily for 7 consecutive days for active infections, followed by a 25% water change on the 7th day. For preventative care when introducing new fish, dose daily for 3 days.
