Aquasonic Formalin/Malachite Solution 250ml (SKU: AQS19) provides a larger volume of high-potency antiparasitic treatment for medium-to-large freshwater aquariums. Combining formalin and malachite green, this formulation stops external protozoan outbreaks by attacking parasites across their active lifecycle stages. It is designed for aquarists managing stubborn cases of Whitespot, Velvet, and skin protozoan parasites across larger tank capacities. It treats freshwater fish diseases, including whitespot (Ich), external parasites, fungal infections, slimy skin disease, and cloudy skin conditions and severe cases of Whitespot (Ich), Velvet (Oodinium), Costia, Trichodina, and Chilodonella.

This copper-free formulation is designed for freshwater fish-only aquariums and should not be used in systems containing invertebrates.

Precautionary Note: Do not use in aquariums containing shrimp, snails, or other invertebrates.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Large Tank Outbreaks: Treat widespread protozoan infestations in larger community or cichlid aquariums.

• Visible external parasites on skin or gills; slimy, cloudy, or dull skin appearance. Severe Whitespot & Velvet: Treat persistent or advanced outbreaks of Whitespot and Velvet parasites.

• Persistent Skin & Gill Parasites: Apply when fish exhibit heavy gasping, flashing, or cloudy skin caused by microscopic protozoans.

• Multi-Tank Quarantine: Ideal for breeders and hobbyists running multi-tank quarantine systems.

How to Use

1. Remove chemical filtration (activated carbon/resins) and turn off UV sterilisers.

2. Increase surface agitation or add an airstone to maintain high dissolved oxygen levels during treatment.

3. Dosage Rate: Add 5 mL per 20 L of aquarium water for 4 consecutive days.

4. Gradually raise water temperature by 2- 3 degrees Celsius, staying within safe limits for the fish being treated, to enhance effectiveness.

5. Conduct a 25% water change before re-dosing after 48 to 72 hours if symptoms remain. Observe fish daily for improvement. Once treatment is complete, repeat the partial water change to maintain water quality.

6. Reinstall carbon filtration once the treatment cycle is finalised.
