Aquasonic Ichonex 100ml – Antiparasitic Medication for Freshwater Fish

Aquasonic Ichonex 100ml (SKU: AQS04) is a copper-based treatment that is a fast-acting antiparasitic medication formulated to combat Whitespot disease (Ichthyophthirius multifiliis) and velvet in freshwater aquarium fish. Whitespot is a highly contagious parasite that appears as tiny white salt-like spots across the fish’s body, fins, and gills. Ichonex targets the free-swimming stage of the parasite to interrupt its lifecycle, providing rapid relief from severe itching, flashing, and respiratory distress. It remains non-staining and easy to use.

Precautinary Note: Due to its copper content, this product is not recommended for use with shrimp, catfish, or other copper-sensitive species.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Whitespot (Ich) Infections: Use at the first sign of small white spots on fish fins, tail, or body.

• Behavioural Parasite Indicators: Apply if fish are frequently “flashing” (rubbing themselves against gravel, rocks, or decorations) or breathing rapidly.

• Best results achieved in freshwater aquariums with stable pH levels of 7.5 or higher

How to Use

1. Remove active carbon from filters and turn off UV sterilisers during treatment. Ensure adequate aeration during treatment

2. Slowly raise aquarium temperature slightly (around 26°C–28°C) if species permit to speed up the parasite lifecycle.

3. Dosage Rate: Add 5 mL per 20 L of aquarium water. Initaially at Day 1, add 5 mL per 40 litres of aquarium water. On Days 2 & 3, add 2.5mL per 40 litres of aquarium water (half dose).

4. Repeat dosage every 3 days until all white spots have completely vanished. For improved effectiveness, split each daily dose into two equal portions and administer morning and evening.

5. Perform a 25% water change post-treatment.
