Aquasonic Ichonex 250ml – Copper-Based Antiparasitic Treatment for Freshwater Fish

Aquasonic Ichonex 250ml (SKU: AQS05) is a copper-based treatment that is an antiparasitic treatment designed for larger freshwater aquariums experiencing outbreaks of Whitespot (Ichthyophthirius multifiliis) or velvet disease. Because Whitespot spreads rapidly through water columns, whole-tank treatment is necessary. This 250ml bottle provides ample capacity to treat entire community tanks over multiple lifecycle cycles, eliminating parasites from fish tissue and substrate alike.  It is easy to use and does not stain or discolour aquarium water, helping to maintain a crystal clear tank appearance.

Precautinary Note: Due to its copper content, this product is not recommended for use with shrimp, catfish, or other copper-sensitive species.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Tank-Wide Ich Outbreaks: Treat community tanks when multiple fish show white spots or dust-like velvet coatings.

• New Stock Quarantine: Use in quarantine tanks when newly acquired fish show signs of parasitic scratching or irritation.

• Best results achieved in freshwater aquariums with stable pH levels of 7.5 or higher

How to Use

1. Shake well before use. Remove active carbon from filters and turn off UV sterilisers during treatment. Ensure adequate aeration during treatment.

2. Slowly raise aquarium temperature slightly (around 26°C–28°C) if species permit to speed up the parasite lifecycle.

3. Dosage Rate: Add 5 mL per 20 L of aquarium water. Initaially at Day 1, add 5 mL per 40 litres of aquarium water. On Days 2 & 3, add 2.5mL per 40 litres of aquarium water (half dose).

4. Repeat dosage every 3 days until all white spots have completely vanished. For improved effectiveness, split each daily dose into two equal portions and administer morning and evening.

5. Perform a 25% to 30% water change after the treatment cycle ends.
