For a keeper who brings home a few frags every month, dipping stops being an occasional precaution and becomes part of the routine. Red Sea Dipx 250ml (SKU: RED643) is the mid-size bottle of DipX, Red Sea’s highly effective dip for safely introducing new corals and live rock to the aquarium. Its formula is a blend of three essential oils without inorganic disinfectants, free of potassium iodide, bromide and similar elements, and Red Sea says it is completely safe for all kinds of corals and more effective than any other solution it tested, removing hitchhikers in a 15-minute bath.

The targets Red Sea names are Acropora-eating flatworms, Montipora-eating nudibranchs and Acropora red bugs, along with the crustaceans, worms, snails and other hitchhikers that ride in on coral and rock. The bath is 10 mL of DipX per litre of tank water in a clean container, never the display; corals are submerged for up to 15 minutes with a gentle swirl, then rinsed in clean seawater. One bath handles four batches within two hours, and the bottle makes about 25 one-litre baths. It is safe, Red Sea says, for SPS, LPS, soft corals, zoanthids, mushrooms and live rock.

Dipping Guide
