Red Sea Dipx 500ml (SKU: RED644) is the large bottle of DipX, Red Sea’s coral bath for safely introducing new corals and live rock to an aquarium. It is made from a blend of three essential oils, without inorganic disinfectants such as potassium iodide or bromide, and Red Sea calls it completely safe for all kinds of corals and more effective than any other solution it tested. At 10 mL per litre the bottle makes about 50 one-litre baths, the best value in the range for keepers who dip regularly.

A 15-minute bath removes the hitchhikers Red Sea names, Acropora-eating flatworms, Montipora-eating nudibranchs and Acropora red bugs, as well as the crustaceans, worms and snails that arrive on coral bases and rock. The method is the same at any scale: 10 mL per litre of tank water in a clean container, up to 15 minutes fully submerged with a gentle swirl, a rinse in clean seawater, then into the aquarium, with four batches per bath within two hours. Red Sea lists it as safe for SPS, LPS, soft corals, zoanthids, mushrooms and live rock.

Dipping Guide

• Measure: 10 mL DipX per litre of aquarium water, in a clean, dry tub, after shaking the bottle well.
• Dip: Fully submerge for up to 15 minutes, swirling gently every few minutes.
• Rinse: Clean seawater rinse before placing in the aquarium, so no dip carries over.
• Batch and discard: Up to four batches per bath, discarded within two hours; DipX never goes into the display.
