Aquavitro Shrimp Small Hut

Description

Aquavitro Shrimp Small Hut — Porous Ceramic Hide & Breeding Shelter for Dwarf Shrimp

The Aquavitro Shrimp Small Hut (SKU: 725161-7076) is a specialised ceramic breeding cave and shelter tailored specifically for dwarf shrimp, fry, and small benthic invertebrates. Small aquarium inhabitants like shrimp and fish instinctively seek secluded spots to reduce stress and avoid being preyed upon. Crafted from inert, high-porosity natural clay, this shelter mimics natural rocky overhangs and crevices where shrimp seek refuge during critical moulting periods.

Beyond serving as a safe hideaway, the micro-porous ceramic material provides vast surface area for beneficial biofilm and nitrifying bacteria colonisation. This is especially crucial for vulnerable moulting shrimp and egg-carrying females, who may abandon their eggs without a secure refuge. Aquavitro shrimp enrichment accessories offer ideal hiding places and can also foster the growth of beneficial algae and biofilm, which serve as important food sources for many small shrimp species. Shrimp continuously graze on this biofilm, making the hut both a functional sanctuary and a natural food source multiplier inside nano and planted aquariums.
