Nisso Floating Lily Purple

Description

Nisso Floating Lily Purple — Soft purple artificial lily pad that gives fish shade and a resting place

Fish that spend their time near the top of the tank, bettas in particular, tend to settle under something, and a floating pad gives them that without planting anything. Nisso Floating Lily Purple (SKU: 101548) is a purple artificial lily pad from Nisso, model NAP-521, made from soft, aquarium-safe plastic and designed to float on the surface. The Australian distributor describes it as a faithful copy of a natural water lily that provides shade and a resting place for fish, and lists it as ideal for freshwater aquariums, betta tanks, shrimp tanks and nano aquariums.

The distributor describes it as safe and non-toxic and says it is cleaned by simply rinsing with water, which makes it a low-effort addition to a small tank. No diameter is published for the purple pad, so no size is given here; check it against the tank when it arrives. As an artificial piece it needs no light, no nutrients and no trimming, and it will keep its colour at the surface in a tank where live floating plants would struggle or be eaten. Purple stands out against green plants and dark substrates, so it works as an accent rather than as camouflage. It floats freely and will drift with surface flow, so place it away from the filter outlet if it is meant to stay in one spot. Nisso also makes the lily in Pink (NAP-520) and Yellow (NAP-522), and as a Mini three-pack (NAP-524). If more than one pad is used, leave gaps of open water between them so that fish keep access to the surface and light still reaches plants below.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Betta aquariums: Shade and a resting place near the surface.
• Shrimp and nano tanks: A decorative pad that does not affect water parameters.
• Dark or bare tanks: A purple accent against a black substrate or a dark background.
• Low-maintenance displays: Surface decoration that never needs trimming.

Placement & Care Guide

• Rinse first: Wash the pad in clean water before use.
• Float it in still water: Keep it clear of strong filter flow.
• Combine colours: Mix with the pink or yellow pads for a varied surface.
