Nisso Floating Lily Yellow

Description

Nisso Floating Lily Yellow — Bright yellow artificial lily pad for freshwater and established saltwater tanks

A yellow lily is the one most likely to catch the eye across a room, and it holds that colour at the surface without sunlight, nutrients or any pruning. Nisso Floating Lily Yellow (SKU: 102798) is an artificial floating lily pad from Nisso, model NAP-522, in a bright yellow with a realistic lily design that sits on the water’s surface. The Australian distributor describes it as made from non-toxic materials that are safe for the aquarium and suitable for freshwater and most established saltwater aquariums.

The distributor does not publish a diameter or name the specific material for the yellow pad, so no size is given here and the pad should be judged against the tank on arrival. It is described as a low-maintenance decoration, and cleaning is done by rinsing; there is nothing to feed, dose or trim. Floating pads can add visual depth to the top of the aquarium and give shaded cover for fish that like to sit near the surface, although the distributor does not make specific claims about fish behaviour for this model. Because it floats, it moves with the surface flow, so keep it away from a strong filter outlet, or from an air-driven ornament, if it is meant to stay in one spot. The yellow pad pairs with Pink (NAP-520) and Purple (NAP-521) for a multi-colour surface, and the Mini three-pack (NAP-524) offers a set of smaller pieces. If the tank has live plants, leave open water between pads so that light still reaches them, and keep the surface clear enough for fish that gulp air, such as bettas and gouramis, to reach it.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Bright accents: A yellow focal point on top of a green planted tank.
• Established saltwater tanks: The distributor lists it for most established marine systems.
• Surface cover: Shading a patch of the surface for fish that like cover.
• Decor changes: A quick way to refresh a display without adding live plants.

Placement & Care Guide

• Rinse before use: Wash the pad in clean water before it goes in.
• Pick the spot: Float it where flow is slow, away from the filter outlet.
