Ornament Bone Fish Medium 8.5wx15.5wx10cmh

Description

Ornament Bone Fish Medium 8.5wx15.5wx10cmh — Medium fish skeleton ornament with a flat base and hiding space for small fish

A fish skeleton on the gravel gives a tank a sunken, shipwreck-and-bones feel without the clutter of a full wreck scene. Ornament Bone Fish Medium 8.5wx15.5wx10cmh (SKU: 37484M) is the medium size of Aqua One’s Bone Fish ornament, listed on the maker’s site as the Fish Skeleton in its skull ornaments range. Aqua One gives the medium as 8 cm wide, 15.5 cm long and 10 cm high (the shelf name rounds the width to 8.5 cm), and describes it as non-toxic and aquarium safe, with fine details, unique colours and shapes, and a flat base that adds stability. It also provides aquatic life with a place to hide.

At 10 cm high and 15.5 cm long the medium suits tanks from about 40 cm long upwards, where it can sit in the foreground or midground without blocking the view; the large version (37484L) measures 12 × 21.5 × 12 cm for bigger aquariums. As a hide it gives small fish somewhere to retreat, and Petstock notes that it suits shy or nocturnal species. Aqua One rates it for coldwater and tropical aquariums and files it with its skull ornaments, alongside pieces such as the Crocodile Skull (37485) and Dinosaur Skeleton (36787), which suit the same bones-and-fossils theme. Care is minimal: a rinse in plain water before it goes in and a soft brush during routine cleaning, since soaps and detergents should never touch anything that goes into the tank.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Themed tanks: Pirate, shipwreck or “lost world” layouts alongside skulls and wrecks.
• Shy fish: A hiding spot for small or nocturnal species.
• Medium aquariums: Sized for tanks of about 40 to 60 cm.
• Coldwater or tropical: Rated by Aqua One for both.

Placement & Care Guide

• Rinse first: Warm or cool tap water only, no soap or detergent.
• Seat the base: Settle the flat base into the gravel so it sits level and stable.
• Leave access: Keep the openings clear so fish can swim in and out.
• Clean with water changes: Brush off algae with a soft brush in old tank water.
