Ornament Shallow Cave 30x26x9.8cm

Description

Ornament Shallow Cave 30x26x9.8cm — Wide low-profile rock cave for freshwater and marine aquariums

Many cave ornaments run tall and narrow, when what a shoal or a shy bottom-dweller often wants is a wide, low spot to settle under. Ornament Shallow Cave 30x26x9.8cm (SKU: 36837) is Aqua One’s Shallow Cave ornament, a 30 x 26 x 9.8 cm piece with a wide, low profile rather than a tall mound, finished to look like natural rock and made from non-toxic, aquarium-safe material. The shallow height keeps it well clear of the water surface in most tanks while still giving a broad footprint of cover.

The open, low-ceilinged design suits fish and shrimp that prefer to shelter without squeezing through a narrow tunnel, and its width makes it a natural centrepiece for the middle or back of an aquascape rather than a corner accessory. Aqua One lists it as suitable for freshwater and marine aquariums, and the rock-style finish is designed to blend into a natural-themed layout alongside driftwood, rockwork or planted substrate rather than stand out as an obvious ornament. Because the cave is wider than it is tall, more than one fish can use it at once without the crowding a single narrow tunnel causes, and the rock-style surface has enough texture that algae growth over time only adds to the natural look rather than standing out against a smooth finish.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Shoaling and bottom-dwelling fish: A wide, low shelter rather than a single narrow tunnel.
• Shrimp and invertebrates: Broad cover with easy access from several sides.
• Natural-themed aquascapes: A rock finish that blends with driftwood and planted layouts.
• Freshwater or marine tanks: One ornament usable across both water types.

Placement & Care Guide

• Rinse before adding: Clear dust from the surface and recesses before placing it in the tank.
• Set on a level base: Stand it on firm substrate so the wide shape doesn’t rock.
• Leave entry points clear: Position it so fish can move in and out from more than one side.
• Clean during water changes: Brush algae off by hand rather than with chemical cleaners.
