Ornament Starfish W Rock 11.5×5.5×12.5cmh

Description

Ornament Starfish W Rock 11.5×5.5×12.5cmh — Starfish-on-rock ornament that brings a seaside look to freshwater aquariums

A starfish is the emblem of the sea, but keeping a real one needs a reef tank; this one is designed for fresh water. Ornament Starfish W Rock 11.5×5.5×12.5cmh (SKU: 37522) is an Aqua One ornament of a starfish set on a rock, 11.5 cm wide, 5.5 cm deep and 12.5 cm high, from the maker’s Kids, Castles & Miniatures range alongside the Reef Shark (37521), Whale Shark (37520) and Dinosaur Egg (37523). Aqua One lists it as easy to set up, non-toxic and aquarium safe, immediately enhancing the look of a tank, and long-lasting with minimal maintenance.

The maker rates it for coldwater and freshwater tropical aquariums; it is not listed for marine use, so a saltwater tank is better served by Aqua One’s marine-rated ornaments. Taller than it is wide and only 5.5 cm deep, it stands upright in a narrow space, against the back glass, between plants or beside a background, and suits tanks from about 30 cm long. Raised on its rock to 12.5 cm, the starfish stays in view above low foreground plants. A light sand substrate sets off the seaside theme, and other pieces from the same range, such as the Giant Clam with Pearls (37497) or the Mermaid with Mirror (37496), extend it into an ocean scene for a child’s tank. Press the base a little into the substrate so it stands level and is not tipped by digging goldfish. Rinse it in warm water before use, then clean it at water changes with a soft brush; no soap or household cleaners, which leave residues harmful to fish.
