P0086L Croc Head XL 52x26x18

Description

P0086L Croc Head XL 52x26x18 — Large open-jawed crocodile head ornament with room for big fish to shelter

Big tanks swallow small ornaments, and a centrepiece for a metre-long display has to be large enough to read from across the room. P0086L Croc Head XL 52x26x18 (SKU: CH52) is an aquarium ornament shaped as the head of a crocodile with its jaws open, measuring about 52 cm long, 26 cm deep and 18 cm high. It is the extra-large piece in its range, and the open mouth and hollow interior create a cave that fish can swim into and rest inside.

At 52 cm long the Croc Head XL suits aquariums from about 90 cm upward, where it can sit along the back or form a feature in the foreground without crowding the swimming space. Its scale makes it useful for larger fish that need a cave: cichlids, plecos, catfish and other bottom dwellers that claim a territory. The textured, lifelike surface carries the scaled detailing of a crocodile, and it pairs naturally with driftwood, smooth river stones and sand for a river or swamp theme. Check that every opening is wide enough for the fish in the tank so none can become wedged. As with any decor, rinse it in plain water before it goes in and clean it during routine maintenance with a soft brush and tank water, never soap or household cleaners. The supplier code P0086L identifies the large version; the store also stocks a smaller Alligator Head under code P0086S (AH25).

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Large display tanks: A centrepiece for aquariums of about 90 cm and longer.
• Cave-seeking fish: Shelter for cichlids, plecos and catfish.
• Themed aquascapes: A river, swamp or prehistoric layout.
• Children’s tanks: A bold, recognisable feature that draws attention to the fish.

Placement & Care Guide

• Rinse first: Wash under plain water before placing; no soap or detergent.
• Set it on the base glass: Bed it into the substrate so fish cannot dig it loose.
• Keep flow paths open: Leave gaps so water circulates through and behind it.
• Clean with water changes: Brush off algae in removed tank water.
