Quantum LPS Macro Probiotic Salt 2.2kg (SKU: QA040220) is the Reef Essential blend written for that kind of reef, and the 2.2 kg pack is the practical size for a nano or a first LPS tank: at 35.2 g per litre for a gravity of 1.025 it mixes about 62 L, enough for several changes on a 60 L cube or a trial batch before buying a bucket. The sodium chloride comes from natural South Australian seawater, with the balance of elements added synthetically.

Usage & Application

When to Use

Mixing & Application Guide

• Work out the salt: Multiply the litres being changed by 35.2 g for 1.025, or 33.7 g for 1.024.
• Add salt to water: Pour the weighed salt into RODI water at about 25 °C and mix with a pump until fully dissolved; never add water to salt, and never put dry salt in the tank.
• Stabilise and check: Let the temperature settle and confirm gravity with a refractometer before the water goes in.
• Keep it dry: Seal the pack after use so the remaining salt does not clump.
