Description
JBL Sansibar Snow is an ultra-fine, natural aquarium sand designed to create a bright, clean, and natural-looking substrate for a wide range of aquarium and terrarium setups. With its very fine, rounded grains, it closely mimics natural river and lakebeds, providing a soft and safe environment for fish, invertebrates, and plants.
The smooth grain structure is especially suitable for bottom-dwelling and burrowing species, as it is gentle on sensitive mucous membranes and barbels. This makes Sansibar Snow ideal for species such as armoured catfish, loaches, and other substrate-grubbing fish that regularly sift through the sand.
Sansibar Snow is chemically neutral and does not release unwanted pollutants into the water, ensuring stable water parameters. Its fine granulation and density help prevent waste and sludge from penetrating deep into the substrate, making maintenance easier while maintaining good overall hygiene in the aquarium.
Suitable for freshwater and marine aquariums, as well as aqua-terrariums and terrariums, this sand enhances the visual appearance of fish and plants by reducing light reflection and creating a calm, natural environment.
Note: Due to its very fine grain size, Sansibar Snow is not suitable for use with undergravel heating cables.
